E-government is one of the most important mechanisms that will significantly affect the level of corruption in the country and force the government to become more transparent. This view is also shared by key global politicians and analysts.
The Center for Anti-Corruption Research and Initiatives of Transparency International, which conducts research on the state of corruption around the world, recommends that Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov pay attention to e-government.
In 2012, according to the Corruption Perception Index, which is annually compiled by Transparency International, Ukraine ranked 144th out of 176. The introduction of e-government and electronic document management will significantly reduce the level of corruption in the country and move Ukraine up 20 positions in the country ranking next year. This was stated by Alexey Khmara, a representative of Transparency International in Ukraine.
The creation of e-government will ensure more efficient and less expensive administrative management, and will also contribute to the implementation of the national anti-corruption strategy. Thanks to the transparency of the system, it will be possible to radically change the relationship between society and the government.
