Last year, the UN released an annual analysis of e-governments in the world - the E-Government Survey 2012. The list of studies includes 190 countries, the latest trends in e-Gov technologies and the institutions that built e-states. The main theme of the review is e-government for the people. According to the conclusions of the experts: e-government is the choice of countries with high economic development.

Recently, there has been a lot of talk about e-government and its creation in Ukraine. Today, the issue of developing the system is more relevant than ever. E-government is the mechanism that can overcome the problem of corruption, allows to clearly control the actions of officials and significantly increase the efficiency of their work. This is an inevitable step and a prerequisite for the successful economic development of the state.

Unfortunately, the authorities are trying to prevent the implementation of e-government or make this system controlled by officials. Despite this, the development of a tool that would allow citizens to improve the quality of public services is becoming a reality. What will e-government become for the country? A springboard to transparency and democracy, or a mechanism for machinations?

For the successful implementation of such a global project, first of all, it is necessary to choose the most suitable technology that will be used for its operation. As a person who has studied the experience of developing and implementing e-government in European countries, I believe that the Open Source technology is the most suitable solution in this case. Only with the use of open source software can we achieve complete transparency of the project and protect the system from control and management from the outside.

Thanks to this choice, we will be able to involve both domestic developers and a large number of programmers from all over the world in the development. But the main thing is to achieve maximum transparency of the work of officials at all levels and improve the efficiency of public administration.
