In terms of the development of information and telecommunications technologies, Ukraine is ranked 67th in the world in the ranking of countries, compiled by the International Telecommunication Union. Compared to last year, Ukraine's rating has fallen by 2 points.
The top 10 places in the ranking belong to South Korea, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Japan, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
The rating is compiled according to the ICT Development Index, which reflects the state of fixed, mobile communications, Internet access, the level of computer literacy of the population, and so on. The index was calculated based on the results of 2011.
However, Ukraine has entered the top five most developed economies in this regard in the CIS region, although it was surpassed by Moldova:
Also, in terms of communication access (fixed telephone, mobile, Internet), Ukraine ranks 71st in the ranking (IDI access sub-index), and in terms of education (skills sub index), and, accordingly, the ability to use the benefits of IT, Ukraine is 11th in the world.

It should be recalled that Ukraine is in 96th place in terms of overall Internet access penetration and in 72nd place in the world among 177 countries in terms of fixed broadband Internet access penetration, according to the Broadband: State of Broadband 2012 research report, compiled by the UN.
